gWill the future be happy and peaceful for all children?h
hWhat should we do for them?h
His topics were various and somewhat complex,
but he gave the audience a pleasant time with his excellent speech.

His talk is summarized as follows;

The world has been shaken by many problems recently; environmental damages, global terrorism, international crises, refugees, etc. Above all, the abductions by North Korea and the Iraqi situation are big issues for us. How should we respond to such global information? We must understand the situation and background of each country.  It has become more difficult to make a decision.  In the past we had only simple alternatives.     But now, the situation is more complicated.  We need to examine each problem carefully.

The coming age will be challenging and interesting for the children who work positively.  They will be able to broaden their minds based on their feelings and experience.  Todayfs children, however, are committed to the society too much. Parents are worried about their childrenfs future.  They are also worried whether the future society will offer a safe environment in which to bring up children.  But first, parents should ask themselves whether they have done their best.  If not, they will not be able to teach their children how to live.

There is no need to be overly pessimistic about our childrenfs future.  The only thing we can say for sure is that no human life exists without connecting with society.  Social information is essential for our life.  Now, we can search for and obtain information quickly through the Internet.  It has become easy for us to understand the events happening around the world.
One thing we have missed so far is interpersonal contacts.

Though the future will see a lot of problems, it will have information and financial resources.  We, therefore, should repeat the line gTry harder!h to our children as our parents used to.  Fortunately in our age, we had role models when we needed to rouse ourselves, but now, those models have disappeared.  When we encourage our children with this phrase, we should present an appropriate model.  We need to offer a clear motivation to encourage them to decide their goals, which may help them think and take action.  Children have to learn to solve their problems independently, while parents should be loyal supporters.
