The first speaker spoke about his home country Bangladesh where people enjoy their daily lives together with their family. Bangladesh is also a country famous for its hospitality. He wondered if people in Japan who live only to work were really happy.

The second speaker who is from New Zealand compared a diverse society to a fruit salad. He recommended that you savor the flavor of each different fruit and enjoy those differences. He also said that embracing and loving diversity made the society more productive.

The third speaker talked about his volunteer activities in the UK and Japan and said , I believe every time I participated in a project ,I was the person who got the most benefit.

The participants varied from teenagers to adults in their 70s. Both men and women were in attendance.
The discussion after each speech went on with passionate opinions, queations and objections from the floor. The speakers respoinded to the attendees comments diplomatically, frankly and tactfully to express themselves to their Japanese counterparts. Thus making this gathering
meaningful and enlightening.
After that everyone was divided into four groups to enjoy a small group disucussion. We look forward to our next Discussion in Plain English
with thoughtprovoking speakers again.
