We invited three guest speakers of varied backgrounds from different countries
having different topics, and Ms Heather Ikeda as a moderator of a discussion
.
*Topics and speakers*
(1) Current situation in Japanese society by Ms Zhang Ming Xia(China)
She said "I am worried about something happened in this society which
feels us unsafe and uneasy. What should we do as a member of this community?"
(2) Japanese descendants by Mr. Larry Yamamoto(Canada)
He said "As a Japanese descendant of Canadian, I experienced something
strange compared to other visible foreigners in Japan. Can you imagine
that?"
(3) How to be yourself in any culture by Ms Aimee Tanemura(USA)
She said "Being American born and raised in Southg America, I was
suffering from culture shock in America when I first went back there. Be
flexible to be yourself in any culture."
The participants varied 10s to 70s, both men and women.
The discussion after each speech went on with questions and objections
from the floor. After that all were divided into four groups to enjoy a
table discussion.
We hope we will provide various topics of the speakers with different backgrounds
next time .
