2003 外国人による 日本語スピーチ大会 Speeches in Japanese by Foreign Residents |
SPEECHES IN JAPANESE BY FOREIGN RESIDENTS 2003 was held on Saturday October
18 at the conference room located at 2nd floor of Aoba Ward Office Annex
Building. Ten speakers from 5 countries (including 1 elementary school girl and 1 junior high school student) showed their great progress in their skill of speaking Japanese. The audience of about 200 people was very impressed by learning from speeches that even though they had, right after their arrival in Japan, difficult times facing with language barrier and the difference in cultures and lifestyles, they had been overcoming these over time. There were also several candid opinion and advice expressed by them over the general public of Japan and they received favarable response from the audience. |
After sincere and warm-hearted comment was given to each of speakers by judges, result of judgement for selection was announced. The Best Award was presented to Ms Kim Min Kyong for her speech titled Difference Between Korea and Japan, and the Audience Award was presented to Ms Kuril Jyoty for her speech titled Road To Friendship. |
During intermission for meeting by panel of judges, perfomances of Thai Traditional Dance and Play of Arpa, traditional harp of Paraguay were presented and received big applause from the audience.. | ||

Traditional Dance of northern part of Thailand was performed by Yamamura Sirpoun and Tsuha Chantana. |
Paraguayan harps were played by Miura Hideko and Koike Etsuko who studied harp during their stay in Latin America. |
